DAYTONA BEACH — As SpeedWeeks and the Daytona 500 approach in Daytona Beach, needy pets in the area are going for a drive of their own.
In partnership with Ford Rock and Race Fest, which runs February 9-10 on Beach Street downtown, Holly Hill’s Laundropet is launching a community-wide Pet Food Drive to help feed pets in shelters in Volusia and Flagler counties.
Donors can drop pet supplies at Laundropet, 1523 N. Nova Road in Holly Hill (the Winn-Dixie shopping plaza), or at Laundropet’s festival kiosk, which will include contests, interactive displays and information about the importance of spaying and neutering, as well as educational information for pet owners about nutrition, training and general health.
Laundropet visitors can register for a chance to win “VIP Backstage Access” to the Race and Rock Fest. While donations or purchases are not required to enter the drawing, they are appreciated. Laundropet, which is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., is pleased to partner with the Concerned Citizens for Animal Welfare, Pawsabilties Rescue Group and Sophie's Circle’s Pet Pantry in the effort to help animals in need.
