DAYTONA BEACH, FL -- When Ford Racing was looking for a unique way to reach consumers away from the race track during Daytona Speedweeks, it was clear that taking "racing" excitement to race visitors as well as the local community was the way to go.
That's why Bill Wynne, North America Motorsports Marketing Manager for Ford Racing Technology, was pleased with the success of the inaugural Ford Race and Rock Fest in downtown Daytona Beach this past February, which helped kick off the NASCAR race season.
"Ford Race and Rock Fest was a chance to give race fans and the Daytona Beach community a chance to experience racing excitement away from the race track," said Wynne. "We wanted to provide both the race visitors and the community a way to enjoy a free, family-friendly event, that encompassed our racing stars, racing cars, and the stars of our product showroom, all in a way that would make them want to come back every year. I think we showed that kind of event can happen in Daytona Beach."
