Ford Motor Company Rolls with Race & Rock Fest Title Sponsorship

January 26, 2007

DAYTONA BEACH - Ford Motor Company turned up the volume on February's Race and Rock Fest with a multi-year agreement for primary sponsorship of the event.

Ford's support for the two-day, mid-Speedweeks event makes a lot of sense, said Deanna Bedford, whose Daytona Beach marketing firm, Progressive Edge Group, developed the Race and Rock Fest concept with the city.
"There's no more authentic brand in racing than Ford," Bedford said.
"The company was built on racing more than a century ago, and Ford's involvement in our event brings with it a tremendous amount of credibility and energy."

Ford Race and Rock Fest takes center stage February 13-14 from 3 to 11 p.m. on Beach Street in the core of the city's historic shopping, dining and entertainment district. Leading the entertainment on Ford Race & Rock Fest's opening night will be rock 'n' roll legend Eddie Money, while country music superstar Sammy Kershaw takes the stage Wednesday night.

Bill Wynne, North America Marketing Manager for Ford Racing Technology, said the company is proud to be part of something that brings quality, family-friendly entertainment to the Daytona Beach community and race fans attending events at nearby Daytona International Speedway.

"We're excited to be the title sponsor of the Ford Race and Rock Fest," Wynne said. "This event allows Ford to have a major presence within the Daytona Beach community during Speedweeks, while providing race fans and their families with a great opportunity for enjoyable race-themed fun. We hope fans will come out to see not only some of racing's great stars, but also get to know some of the stars of Ford's 2007 car and truck lineup."

With appearances from a selection of Ford's lineup of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series stars, including Greg Biffle, as well as visits from former NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series champion Bobby Labonte and others, Ford Race & Rock Fest is sure to be Speedweeks' most dominant off-track entertainment destination.
The festival also will feature free midway-style rides, like bumper cars and a fun house. NASCAR teams' show cars, games and vendors also will add to the excitement for fans of all ages. Admission to Ford Rock and Race Fest and select parking are free.

The Ford Race and Rock Fest is a production of Progressive Edge Group, a Daytona Beach-based sports- and entertainment-marketing firm with a national reach. With leadership commanding more than 25 years of experience.
